Street Style: Palazzo Pants!

First, I want to take a moment to thank ALL of you stars for visiting my blog, for your wonderful support and great feedback. I love hearing from you so when a star wrote me about palazzo pants and how to style them, I thought I’d do a special blog post so Meg, this one’s for you…

Palazzo pants are long women’s trousers cut with a wide leg that flares out from the waist. They are popular in the summer months as they are loose fitting (which equals comfort) and breathable in hot weather. They come in many different flowing fabrics like silk crepe, jersey and other natural fibre textiles (which means lightweight and perfect for the season). Wear it as a cover up over your bathing suit at the beach or dress it up with a matching flowing blouse and heels. Keep it casual with sandals and a tank top (tucked in or out) or show a little bit of skin with a crop top. Still not sure how to rock them, check out my inspirational boards featuring palazzo pants.

Will you be rocking palazzo pants this Spring/Summer?

Street Style: Denim Jacket & Maxi Dress!

One of my favourite pieces to wear this season are maxi (dresses and skirts). Why?! Well…they are uber comfy and lightweight, they come in a plethora of different styles and patterns (I particularly love the designs shown above) and they are sooo comfy (did I say that already?!…well, you get my point!). Want your outfit on fleek? Pair your maxi with a denim jacket or if you prefer something less heavy, a chambray shirt. Roll of your sleeves or go sleeveless and accessorize your arms with a few bangles or stacked bracelets. Grab your clutch & sunnies, put on your favourite pair of sandals and you’re good to go! You really can’t go wrong with this look. Simple, casual but flaw-l-e-s-s. Check out a few of my inspirational boards featuring denim jackets & maxi dresses!

What better way to do just that and to express your softer but fun, fresh and flirty side than with floral prints. Need some inspiration?! Hello March!

March is here (a tad late but hey)!!!…which means Spring is near!!! (Don’t forget to Spring Forward this weekend…YAY to longer brighter days but NAY to losing an hour sleep…lol).

Lots to look forward to this month. For you Divergent fans, the second part of the trilogy, Insurgent, will hit theatres March 20th. Who else is excited to see Tris (Shailene Woodly) and Four (Theo James) on the big screen again?

Lots going on in vogue world with Fashion Week scheduled in a city near you. In Toronto, World MasterCard Fashion Week will showcase some Fall 2015 Canadian Collections the week of March 23-27 at David Pecaut Square featuring designers such as Kania (Stacey Bafi Yeboa is one of my faves and she is an amazing woman too), Tatsuaki, Mackage and Rudsak.

Also in fashion, there are many fabulous Spring covers out this month that are certainly worth checking out. One of my favourite actresses, Tracee Ellis Ross covers Essence. Another favourite, Kerry Washington covers In Style and Taraji P. Henson graces the cover of Uptown. Gwen Stefani covers Canada’s No.1 Fashion & Beauty magazine – Fashion and Lupita Nyong’o covers Lucky mag.

I’m looking forward to a month filled with good reads, great fashion and amazing collections.

What are your plans this month?

Happy Friday! ❤️️️️️️️️xo

Chrissy Teigen In Elisabetta Franchi!

Earlier this week, Chrissy Teigen attended the 2014 Fragrance Foundation Awards at Lincoln Centre in New York City wearing a Spring 2014 collection Elisabetta Franchi dress.

Mrs. Legend rocked the short dress with Casadei gold blade pumps and Jacob & Co. jewels.

Teigen looked stunning if I may say so myself…
What do you think of her look?

Trending: Espadrilles!

Espadrilles are casual flat (but can be platform or wedge shaped) shoes that have a canvas or cotton fabric upper and a flexible sole made of rope or rubber material cast to resemble rope.

Originating from the Pyrenees, espadrilles are now worn by many across the globe and have grown in popularity. Many designers have created “fashion statement” espadrilles for their collection. They are casually stylish, comfortable and perfect for spring/summer months.

The best part: there are so many styles to choose from!

I personally love the Chanel CC Espadrille Flats!!!

They are offered in a variety of colours and different materials such as Leather, Mesh, Suede and Canvas.

PLUS…You don’t have to break the bank for a pair. I found some great ones under $100 here, here, here and here.

Espadrilles sure have come a long way!

Will you be rocking “espadrilles” this season?

Happy Friday!

Spring Cleaning: Closet Swap!

Now that Spring is here, it’s time to start purging the thick, heavy sweaters in your closet for the lightweight tops and flowy dresses.

Every 6 months, I look forward to doing my closet swap. I get to fall in love all over again with items that I haven’t worn in a while and discover pieces that I forgot I even had.

There’s a great feeling in doing this. Personally, it makes me feel renewed, refreshed and blessed to have clothes on my back. It’s also a great opportunity to give back by donating clothing wherever you can. That is something that is very dear to my heart.

Closet organization is also something I enjoy doing so much that I’ve blogged about it three times already here, here and here. Well, I wanted to share more closet ideas that may inspire you. Organization is key!

And for the man of course…

Hello May!

May is finally here!!!

I hope that calls for warmer weather, birds chirping and flowers blooming. These are all small things that make me grin from ear to ear but there’s much more to be looking forward to this month…

Let’s celebrate our loving mothers (in present or memory), visit our local farmers markets for the freshest fruit & veggies, get active & play in a hope volleyball tournament, enjoy the botanical gardens at the Canadian Tulip Festival and all while wearing our fave spring fashion.

Happy May!

Hello April!

This month, let’s celebrate our Saviour, enjoy quality time with our loved ones and anticipate “Spring” weather (with limited April showers).

Happy April!
