Earlier this week, I shared Part 1 of Africa Fashion Week Montreal (AFWMTL), an innovative annual event which aims to celebrate African and Caribbean culture by showcasing creative designs of renowned and emerging artists. Without further ado, here is part 2 of last weekend’s event.
Asikere Afana specializes in sensual blends of African-inspired, timeless trends & curated textiles. Made in Ghana with 100% cotton and fair trade.
Cocody Collections specializes in African print fabrics and vibrant colours with a modern minimalist chic and simple yet notorious (in its originality) style.
Elle Sublime represents strong yet delicate, audacious and even eccentric women of all generations who value their femininity, specializing in trendy handmade custom jewelry.
Korto Momolu celebrates the essence of Africa through the use of traditional, luxury fabrics; skins; mixed prints on fashion forward women’s wear and accessories. Her signature designs also appeared on the 5th season of Bravo TV’s hit show, Project Runway; where she was placed 1st runner up. She is definitely a top designer to watch!
Again a HUGE thank you to Kama St-Juste and her leading team Médina Diabagate, Béatrice Clervoix and Liette Clervoix for bringing AFWMTL to Montreal.
I truly hope this entices you to be a part of AFWMTL next year. I know I will be (God willing!).

Elie Saab presented his Haute Couture show earlier this week and the collection was adorned with sequins, crystals, sheer tulle, feathers and ostrich plumes. The Lebanese designer dedicating the collection to his past in Beirut which he called the “golden age”. I’m loving the influence of Beirut in his new lineup as it introduces a certain freshness to his looks and provides the perfect template for new embroideries. See for yourself…Here are some of my favourite looks from the collection. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

The 2014 Victoria Secret Fashion Show airs tomorrow night (Tuesday, December 9) at 10/9c on CBS. The annual event features elaborate costumed lingerie shown on some of the world’s top fashion models such as current Victoria’s Secret Angels Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Doutzen Kroes, Behati Prinsloo, Candice Swanepoel, Lily Aldridge, Elsa Hosk and Karlie Kloss. With all the lavish costumes (many including angel wings) and with performances by Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, and Hozier, the show is sure to be quite the entertainment. This year’s runway themes are Gilded Angels, University of Pink, Exotic Traveler, Fairy Tale, Dream Girl and Angel Ball.
Here are some of my favourite looks from the different themes running within the show.
London Fashion Week (LFW) has been in effect since 1984. Today, it is one of the most anticipated city-wide event with the best and brightest names in the industry. The semi-annual (February & September) event is attended by over 5000 press and buyers. Who wouldn’t want to attend a series of catwalk shows by top designers and fashion houses!? (Yes, please!!!). LFW is one of the “Big Four” fashion weeks, alongside New York, Paris and Milan. Not only does LFW showcase some of the world’s leading talent on the runway, it’s also known to showcase some amazing “Street Style” fashion. Here are some of my favourite Street Style looks from LFW…Enjoy!

Yesterday, the Michael Kors spring/summer show took place at Spring Studios, NY for New York Fashion Week (NYFW). Olivia Munn rocked MK from head to toe in this suntan eyelet jacquard jumpsuit that she paired with black sandals. This look is simple yet chic. No accessories needed! The jumpsuit is a statement in itself and the sweetheart shape neckline oozes femininity. I think I need this one-piece wonder in my closet. What are your thoughts?

A few weeks ago, Raf Simons and the house of Dior showcased a collection that was modern with French chicness mixed with an American homage and I was so attracted to the florals and abstractions that I wanted to share some of the looks with you.
The fast-paced show featured 66 looks. Here are some of my faves:

From a Californian Vogue magazine collector to a New York City stylist for magazine shoots, Rachel Roy always dreamt of being a designer.
Now living her dreams, Rachel expresses her inspiration of strong and confident working women in her collections and has done so since her very first New York City debut (Spring 2004).
