Ottawa’s Taco-Fest 2015!

Privé is hosting its 2nd annual Taco-Fest in Ottawa, Ontario on Saturday, August 8th from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm (EDT) at the Shaw Centre (55 Colonel By Drive, Ottawa, Ontario, K1N 9J2). This is where the City’s best taco makers come together to showcase their culinary spins on fan’s fave foods.

This is a 19+/cash only event so you’ll have to leave the kiddos at home and be prepared to show ID. You need a night out anyway, right?! 😉

Get your advance tickets here for only $10.00 ($11.59 including fee) or at the door for $15.00 (starting at 7pm). This will cover your entry only…thankfully all food is affordable and priced between $2-$5. It also goes to support local businesses (which I love!). Here are a few that will be there…

Blue Cactus Bar & Grill

Art-is-in Bakery will be serving their famous Tequila Donuts (not Kronuts as pictured below)

Rico Peru Food Truck

Nacho Cartel

Ola Cocina (vegetarian no vegan options available and all gluten free)

Angry Dragonz

Petit Peru

Food. Music. Ambiance. Sounds like a fun night to me! You don’t want to miss this event…especially if you’re a foodie (like moi!).

A special thank you to Mila And Privé for the invitation. Looking forward to getting my grub on. See you there!

RSVP presents A Culture Chic Affair – April 4, 2015! *TICKET GIVEWAY*

Will you be in the Nation’s Capital on Easter Long Weekend? If so, make sure to attend the RSVP presents A Culture Chic Affair on April 4, 2015 at 6pmDelta Ottawa City Centre, 101 Lyon St, Ottawa, Ontario (Canada). This is an event you don’t want to miss so mark your calendars!!!

Culture Chic Affair was designed to promote local businesses in Ottawa, Ontario that cater to African, Caribbean and other major cultures that exist in Canada while also supporting charities to help make the community a better place. This event will be promoted through food, music, fashion and art. It will help support and establish new and existing companies by providing them with the recognition that they deserve.

What to expect:

I had the wonderful opportunity to interview RSVP Events Canada about this upcoming event, inspirations and future projects. Check it out below…

More about this event:
RSVP: This elegant, upscale event will feature 5 to 6 exclusive designers from Ontario. Just to name a few designers lined up, we have Jena & Emilia FashionWidlyne Rose and AMM Line Productions
What inspired you to host such an affair?
RSVP: I* am in the events industry and deal with clients from all sorts of different cultures. Most of these clients want to incorporate culture touches to their events. With no one to really cater to them, it was hard to make this happen. We are constantly digging deep to find local vendors to cater to them. Hence why we decided to create the event to promote and showcase the vendors that I* eventually found out that they actually existed, but did not have the support and recognition.
Why is it important for Canada to host events such as this and for everyone to come out?
RSVP: I* think Canada lacks support in the Culture side of things especially in the Afro/Caribbean area. We have a lot of amazing companies in Ottawa/Ontario and within Canada that are basically unknown. This event will hopefully get them on the map and on the road to success. We urge everyone in the community to come out and support them.
Can you tell me more about RSVP Events Canada, your role and how you got involved?
RSVP: I* Co own RSVP Events. RSVP Events is Ottawa’s top “one of a kind” certified wedding, corporate and specialty event planning firm. We specialize in creating unique and creative events starting with your vision, expectations and style. Like most event planning companies we stand by our professionalism and attention to detail. Our mission is to alleviate as much stress as possible while designing and developing lasting memories and catering to our clients’ needs so that they can actually enjoy the event. I* created this event with my lovely team (a dream team of 10 amazing girls) and we are excited to see it come to life.
What other events can we expect from RSVP Events Canada?
We are always creating great events. We will keep you all posted.
