Did you know…
Oprah Winfrey was demoted from her news anchor job because she…”Wasn’t fit for television.”
Michael Jordan locked himself in his room and cried after being cut from his high school basketball team.
Steve Jobs was left devastated and depressed after being removed from the company he started.
Dare to fail miserably and you can achieve greatly!
Happy Thursday! ❤️️️️️️️️xo
I love this quote by Oprah and I completely agree with it. How do we expect to get anything in life if we are too afraid to go after our heart’s desires, if we are not willing to work for it or if we don’t have the courage to ask for it!?
We must not be afraid to ask? When we ask, we receive. It doesn’t mean that the ‘receiving’ will happen right away but whatever the request, it will be given in due time.
Keep pushing through the “no’s” because it will get you to your one “yes” (which is all you need).
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. (Matthew 7:7 NIV)
Since it’s premiere earlier this month, I have been watching and loving Oprah Winfrey Network’s newest docu-series, “Love In The City”, starring Kiyah Wright (celebrity hair stylist and the link who brought the four friends together), Bershan Shaw (founder of social networking site URAWARRIOR), Chenoa Maxwell (actress and aspiring photographer) and Tiffany Jones (founder of Pink Chose Me Foundation).
The show follows the four women as they juggle their professional and personal lives in the fast paced flow of New York City (particularly NYC’s legendary Harlem neighbourhood). The quartet have known each other for more than ten years and are constant sources of inspiration, support, competition and companionship to one another through life’s successes and setbacks.
Tiffany and Bershan are both breast cancer survivors dedicating their lives in sharing their stories of survival to spread awareness and provide hope to other women.
Brownie points to OWN for bringing us a new series that displays more sisterly love than hyped-up drama.
