Balmain x H&M Collection!

I’m baaaaaack! That’s right, I took a 2-month hiatus only to come back with more exciting ‘star-like’ things and I just can’t wait to share with you all of the things that are near and dear to my heart. What better way to start than with…wait for it…FASHION!

As most “magasineuses” know, the highly anticipated designer collaboration Balmain x H&M is launching TODAY (8am local time to be exact). I mean who wouldn’t want to get their hands on an Olivier Rousteing-designed item. See for yourself…

My fellow Canadians can shop this designer collection at Rockland Centre and St. Catherine St. West at Peel St. in Montreal, Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby, Bloor St. West, Toronto Eaton Centre in Toronto and The Pacific Centre in Vancouver. The lucky first 420 people in line will receive a coloured wristband to shop in groups of 30 for 10 mins only so plan your shopping list beforehand (side note: this collection fits slightly smaller). Afterwards, everything will be up for grabs to everyone else.

Will you be shopping Balmain x H&M? What’s your must-have item from this designer collection? Here’s mine! Love love love!   (Images via hm.com)

Happy Thursday! Happy shopping!

RSVP presents A Culture Chic Affair – April 4, 2015! *TICKET GIVEWAY*

Will you be in the Nation’s Capital on Easter Long Weekend? If so, make sure to attend the RSVP presents A Culture Chic Affair on April 4, 2015 at 6pmDelta Ottawa City Centre, 101 Lyon St, Ottawa, Ontario (Canada). This is an event you don’t want to miss so mark your calendars!!!

Culture Chic Affair was designed to promote local businesses in Ottawa, Ontario that cater to African, Caribbean and other major cultures that exist in Canada while also supporting charities to help make the community a better place. This event will be promoted through food, music, fashion and art. It will help support and establish new and existing companies by providing them with the recognition that they deserve.

What to expect:

I had the wonderful opportunity to interview RSVP Events Canada about this upcoming event, inspirations and future projects. Check it out below…

More about this event:
RSVP: This elegant, upscale event will feature 5 to 6 exclusive designers from Ontario. Just to name a few designers lined up, we have Jena & Emilia FashionWidlyne Rose and AMM Line Productions
What inspired you to host such an affair?
RSVP: I* am in the events industry and deal with clients from all sorts of different cultures. Most of these clients want to incorporate culture touches to their events. With no one to really cater to them, it was hard to make this happen. We are constantly digging deep to find local vendors to cater to them. Hence why we decided to create the event to promote and showcase the vendors that I* eventually found out that they actually existed, but did not have the support and recognition.
Why is it important for Canada to host events such as this and for everyone to come out?
RSVP: I* think Canada lacks support in the Culture side of things especially in the Afro/Caribbean area. We have a lot of amazing companies in Ottawa/Ontario and within Canada that are basically unknown. This event will hopefully get them on the map and on the road to success. We urge everyone in the community to come out and support them.
Can you tell me more about RSVP Events Canada, your role and how you got involved?
RSVP: I* Co own RSVP Events. RSVP Events is Ottawa’s top “one of a kind” certified wedding, corporate and specialty event planning firm. We specialize in creating unique and creative events starting with your vision, expectations and style. Like most event planning companies we stand by our professionalism and attention to detail. Our mission is to alleviate as much stress as possible while designing and developing lasting memories and catering to our clients’ needs so that they can actually enjoy the event. I* created this event with my lovely team (a dream team of 10 amazing girls) and we are excited to see it come to life.
What other events can we expect from RSVP Events Canada?
We are always creating great events. We will keep you all posted.

Elie Saab presented his Haute Couture show earlier this week and the collection was adorned with sequins, crystals, sheer tulle, feathers and ostrich plumes. The Lebanese designer dedicating the collection to his past in Beirut which he called the “golden age”. See for yourself…Here are some of my favourite looks from the collection. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Star Designer: Cushnie et Ochs!

20140118-142703.jpg
If you have never heard of Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs, then you better start getting to know more about these 2 fashion designers. Together, they established Cushnie et Ochs in 2008 and have since created an embodiment of work that is representative of what every woman is looking to have in their wardrobe. Their work is bold and sensual with a touch of raw feminine attitude. It expresses confidence. They understand the female body and celebrate it. The body-contouring silhouettes, the bold lines and colors are complemented in their collections which makes it a flawless execution every time.

I fell in love with their Pre Fall 2014 collection. 😍
