Street Style: Denim On Denim !

Denim on denim (or should I say the Canadian Tuxedo), is a stylishly fashionable look that is sure to be rocking the “mode” streets this Spring…I personally love the head to toe denim look. It’s casual yet chic and super comfortable, especially when pairing a chambray shirt (tucked in or out or both) with a relaxed pair of boyfriend jeans (distressed or cuffed). Elongate your legs by wearing a pair of pumps instead of flats and roll up the denim to show a bit of skin (you tease!). Add the right accessories to this combo and you’ve got yourself a desirable outfit. Check out my all-denim inspirational boards that feature some of my favourite looks. Are you feeling this look?

Jessica Alba in J Brand & D’Orsay!

I love Jessica Alba’s style…simple yet chic. She definitely knows how to make a fashion statement.

I love the way that she paired this white mesh top and high waisted J Brand skinnies with this soft pink topper and carryall. Her tortoiseshell shades and pink skinny belt are the perfect accessories to complement her look. She topped it off perfectly with these grey Jenni Kayne’s D’Orsay flats*.
*Officially added to my wishlist.

How do you like this look? Yay or Nay?

Happy Friday!

Trending: Chambray!

Let me fill you in on these amazing denim button-ups…Chambray Shirts!

A chambray is a smooth lightweight fabric that is super versatile. It makes more of a statement than your average oxford shirt and is definitely a must-have item in your closet. It’s great as a piece that you can throw on without any effort and it will make you look fabulous.

So, not sure how to wear a chambray? Check out some of my fave looks…

A chambray looks great paired with a skirt or coloured denim, thrown over a short sleeve shirt or a tank. It can even be worn long as a dress…maybe even under a sweater or a long sleeve shirt. What do you think? How would you wear it?

Happy Wednesday!

Yay or Nay for Overalls?

Wayyy back in the day, overalls were worn as a protective overgarment in a work environment. It wasn’t until the ’60s that both sexes started rocking them in a more fashionable way, not only in denim but in different colors, patterns and with loose or unfastened straps.

This fashion trend peaked in the ’70s, and again in the late ’90s. That was when I included a pair into my wardrobe. I loved wearing them with crop tops (Aaliyah style) and sneakers…It always use to make me feel brand new. LOL

Although overalls have been creeping up the fashion market since last year, I’m still not sure if I will re-introduce them in my life but looking at these fashionistas strutting their “all-over” overalls makes me think twice…

I’m loving: Rolled Jeans!

One of the reasons why I’m loving the rolled jeans look is that you can create that look with any denim…distressed, boyfriend, skinny…you name it!

Another fab reason is to show off your new pair of sexy stilettos or even a cute pair of flats.

The cherry on top: If you have jeans that are a-tad too long, forget about hemming them and just start rolling (super saver tip! 😉).

Need some inspiration? Here’s some of my fave “rolled jeans” looks:
