The 46th Annual NAACP Image Awards were held last Friday at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California. The show, hosted by comedian Anthony Anderson, celebrated the achievements of people of colour in film, television, literature and music. The star-studded event also showcased some gorgeous ensembles on the red carpet and of course, I wanted to share some of the looks with you. Here are some of my faves.
Gabrielle Union rocked a blush-hued Gauri & Nainika gown featuring side cutouts.
Kerry Washington looked flawless in the colour of the month wearing a red Zuhair Murad gown. She accessorized her look with a Ferragamo clutch and Cathy Waterman jewelry.
Gugu Mbatha-Raw was a breath of fresh air in a yellow embroidered Burberry gown. The studded leather belt definitely complemented her look.
Tracee Ellis Ross stunned in a fitted, beaded gown with a deep plunge.
Angela Bassett looked gorge in an embellished black & gold gown featuring a plunging neck.
Teyonah Parris looked beautiful in a Haus of Falenci’ago gown with a flowing lace train and plunging neckline.
Eva Marcille rocked a full two-tone tulle skirt like only she knows how and paired it with a tube top. This woman can wear anything and make it look good.

What are your thoughts?
A raincoat or slicker is a must in everyone’s closet (especially this month where it calls for showers☔️on most days). It’s THE perfect item for April showers.
How so? Well…
1- It’s water-resistant or waterproof so it protects the body from rain.
2- It’s normally made of Gore-Tex or Tyvek and coated nylons which are breathable fabrics.
3- It comes in so many different colors, shapes and sizes, you’ll have lots of options to choose from.
I usually stick to neutral colors but that’s only because I love to add a pop of color via accessories like an umbrella or wellies.
