Here are some of my fave looks of the week…
This verse always brings a smile to my face. Everytime I read it, I believe it, I internalize it and that is what should be projected into this world…not what society labels as beautiful but what God says you are and that is “beautiful in every way”.
“How beautiful you are, my darling! Oh, how beautiful! Your eyes behind your veil are doves. Your hair is like a flock of goats descending from the hills of Gilead. Your teeth are like a flock of sheep just shorn, coming up from the washing. Each has its twin; not one of them is alone. Your lips are like a scarlet ribbon; your mouth is lovely. Your temples behind your veil are like the halves of a pomegranate. Your neck is like the tower of David, built with courses of stone; on it hang a thousand shields, all of them shields of warriors. Your breasts are like two fawns, like twin fawns of a gazelle that browse among the lilies. Until the day breaks and the shadows flee, I will go to the mountain of myrrh and to the hill of incense. You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you.”

Happy Sunday! ❤️️Xo
Last weekend, I was graciously invited to attend the very first edition of Natural Hair Congress Canada (NHCC) in Montreal presented by Inhairitance Inc. and boyyyy was I glad to be there. This was quite the event and if you weren’t there, you definitely missed out so make sure to mark your calendar now for next year. There were some great speakers such as Audrey Davis-Savisothy, Nerissa Irving and Stacey McKenzie, for which I had the opportunity to interview (coming soon) and sooo many other wonderful people, talented artists, designers and entrepreneurs. Here’s a recap of NHCC.
The fabulous international top fashion model, runway coach & judge on Canada’s Next Top Model, Stacey McKenzie
Panel discussion featuring Stacey McKenzie (International Supermodel, initiator of Walk This Way Workshop), Marième Ndiaye (singer, Inhairitance spokesperson), Mona Lisa Prosper (lawyer) and Maya Johnson (journalist, CTV anchor) and Hair Show
Canada Wide Natural Hair Competition featuring Salon de Beauté Vision D.C., Hair by Glenna and Curly Hair Designs (Winner of the very first Canadian Natural Hair Award…Congratulations Paula!! Yay Ottawa!)
Inhairitance Hair Show
My fave hairstyle was rocked by model Shany (love her!).
A BIG thank you to Inhairitance, particularly Abisara Machold and her leading team (special thank you to Chilandre Patry) for your having me and for showing such excellence, professionalism and elegance throughout the event. Thank you!
Happy Saturday! ❤️xo
This Saturday, June 27th 2015, the Loft Hotel will be hosting the 1st ever Natural Hair Congress Canada (NHCC) in Montreal (314 Sherbrooke East to be exact) exclusively dedicated to the beauty & care of curly, kinky, wavy or locked hair. Presented by the Inhairitance salon boutique, this all-day event features speakers and panelists such as Stacey McKenzie (top model, judge on Canada’s Next Top Model as well as Founder of Walk This Way Workshops INC), Audrey Sivasothy (author of The Science of Black Hair), Nerissa Irving (lecturer and editor of Kamoy Magazine) and Marième Ndiaye (spokesperson and singer)…need I say more?!…(But I will)…
At NHCC, you will have access to a great selection of natural hair and body products, get priceless advice and feedback on personal hair challenges (we all know about that right?!), take part of the discussion with the panelist on burning issues, share experiences and hair stories and dwell in the oasis of wellbeing. Also, you will not want to miss the hairstyling competition & hair show; where 5 Canadian specialized stylists in naturally curly hair compete for 1st place in a live stage competition and where Natural Hair experts across Canada show off their talents & skills, signature styles and wedding inspirations. All of this followed by mixing and mingling with sounds presented by an all-women collective Amazon DJ Crew. So, I can go on and on about this event, but truth is, you need to be there. Everyone is welcome!
Here’s the showdown:
9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m – Conferences (2) / Workshops (6) / Panels (2)
8:00 p.m – Live Hairstyling Competition
9:00 p.m – Inhairitance Hair Show / After-Party
Complete Package $65 / Conferences $45 / Hair Show $25
“Only a few specialists are trained to cut and care for curly textured hair. Each curl has its size and personality. We hope through this conference to offer an exchange platform on aesthetics but also on socio-political aspect of wearing our naturally curly and kinky hair” explains Abisara Machold, owner of Inhairitance and founder of the Natural Hair Congress Canada.
You really don’t want to miss this event. This is the First congress exclusively dedicated to the curly hair movement in Canada. I hope to see you there!
Happy Wednesday! ❤️xo
I was happy to attend the RSVP Presents A Culture Chic Affair this past weekend and I had such a fabulous time meeting some amazingly talented people from artists to fashion designers to makeup artists to entrepreneurs. It was such an enriching experience filled with Afro-Caribbean culture, live entertainment, creative artisans and designers. In fact, there were so many great moments (that I was able to capture on camera), it’s only right that I share them with you. Experience a Culture Chic Affair through my eyes and camera lens. Enjoy!
