Christmas is just around the corner…are you ready for the most festive time of the year? I look forward to creating precious moments with family & friends, resting & relaxing, eating & drinking and celebrating baby Jesus. What are you excited about?
Here’s a video of me having fun and showing off my skills (lol), all to wish you Happy Holidays!!!
On Wednesday July 16, 2014, the Nokia Theatre (Los Angeles) hosted the 2014 ESPY Awards, an annual ceremony presented by ESPN to recognize athletic achievement as well as other sports-related performance.
It was definitely a night of style, laughs and empowering moments. First, let’s talk style!
You fix your makeup just so
Guess you don’t know that you’re beautiful
Try on every dress that you own
You were fine in my eyes a half hour ago
If your mirror won’t
Make it any clearer I’ll
Be the one to let you know
Out of all of the girls
You’re my one and only girl
Ain’t nobody in the world tonight
All of the stars
You make them shine like they were ours
Ain’t nobody in he world
But you…and I
Such profound words from John Legend’s latest single You & I (Nobody In The World)from his album ‘Love In The Future’.
When I first heard this song, I immediately fell in love with the powerful lyrics but it was the music video that really did it for me (icing on the cake for sure!). I couldn’t help but get teary while watching everyday women of all colours, shapes and sizes looking themselves in the mirror and reflecting on their body image and how they view themselves daily. It was such a powerful yet touching look of today’s reality and better yet, a positive message for all daughters, sisters, mothers and wives out there. It was more than what I envisioned.
Play this song for yourself today. Make the lyrics about you. You don’t need makeup to validate your beauty…You don’t need a mirror to determine your allure…Know that you are beautiful!
If you are a Shonda Rhimes fan, you will be happy to know that she has created yet another show (as if Scandal and Grey’s Anatomy wasn’t enough) called “How to Get Away With Murder” starring Viola Davis.
This new drama, which will premiere on ABC this Fall, is about a brilliant and mysterious criminal defence professor (played by Viola Davis) and her ambitious law students who become entangled in a murder plot that could change the course of their lives.
This suspense-driven legal thriller is based in Philadelphia and could possibly be the next best thing after Scandal. What do you think?
I know I’ve been MIA for a while now. I really didn’t mean to. It just seems like there has been sooo much going on lately…definitely trying times but thank you for being patient with me.
I came across this video that really touched my heart and I wanted to share with you.
It’s about an Australian man, Bill Forward, who devotes his life to gently caring for his cherished, infirm wife (advanced Alzheimer’s), Glad Forward, after almost 50 years of marriage.
This story really touched me because:
1) God has truly blessed me with such an amazing man, one that He created just for moi!
2) My precious granny also suffered from Alzheimer’s before her passing 3 years ago. May she rest in peace.
Their love is so profound and proves that this kind of love still exists. I believe…do you?
God never ceases to amaze me.
