I was happy to attend the RSVP Presents A Culture Chic Affair this past weekend and I had such a fabulous time meeting some amazingly talented people from artists to fashion designers to makeup artists to entrepreneurs. It was such an enriching experience filled with Afro-Caribbean culture, live entertainment, creative artisans and designers. In fact, there were so many great moments (that I was able to capture on camera), it’s only right that I share them with you. Experience a Culture Chic Affair through my eyes and camera lens. Enjoy!

With New Year’s Eve being just a few days away, I’m sure many of you are still trying to figure out what to wear for the end of 2014 and the beginning of 2015. Whether you’re planning to wear a
little not-so-little black dress or a structured sweater with denim or even a blouse with a skirt, what better way to accessories your outfit than with a statement necklace.
They are the perfect accessory to make ANY ensemble stand out. This statement jewelry is meant to be the focus of the overall look and the ultimate conversation starter. You can certainly keep the rest of the outfit simple with such an eye-grabber piece. Chic yet effortless! All you need is this one piece (or a couple pieces if you decide to stack a few necklaces to get the look). Here are some of my face looks featuring statement necklaces.

Accessories that I
never rarely leave home without are my earrings and watch (otherwise I feel ‘somewhat’ naked…you know that feeling, right?). My go-to earrings are either studs or pearls so when I first laid eyes on these “Mise en Dior” earrings, I instantly fell in love. How gorgeous are these double ended pearl earrings?! It’s the perfect statement piece that graciously frames any face. I’m loving the bold asymmetric effect. The small pearl rests on the ear while the large pearl peers out behind the lobe. You can even opt to wear it alone, which gives you 2 different sizes to choose from, or as a pair. Who doesn’t love versatility?

Lesa Bennett and Jemma Fennings, the duo behind the Olivia Burton London brand, created their own style of watches inspired by vintage styles and catwalk trends. The collection is distinctive as they are all made with obsessive attention to detail. The watches come in many wearable styles such as wonderland, woodland, colour crush, animal motifs, modern vintage and my favourite, big dial (the ‘fab’ watch). They are fun, affordable (ranging from $105 to $200) and full of British style.
I’m definitely adding the big dial watch to my wishlist. Do you have a favourite OB watch style?
