In Her Closet: Chrissy Teigen!

Anyone close to me knows that I have a very sane thing for closets…Yes, my wardrobe closet is categorically organized meaning there’s a section for dresses, skirts, denim, tops, sweaters, hoodies, sweatpants, trousers, cardigans and t-shirts. Yes, everything is colour coordinated. Yes, all of my hangers are facing the same direction and yes, I would know if someone went in there. Ok, so I have a serious thing for closets hence why I was instantly drawn when The Coveteur gave a glimpse of Chrissy Teigen’s closet at her home in the Hollywood Hills…that is what I call la-la land. See for yourself. Here are some of my fave snaps.

Check out the remainder of the pics here.

So what do you think of Chrissy’s closet? You already know how I feel about it…love love love it!

Polka Dots & Leopard Spots!

Mixing prints can be very fun, especially in Spring where you can play with an array of different colours. I particularly love mixing polka dots & leopard spots. There’s just something about that look that commands attention. Dots & Spots are definitely a show stopper and a must-try if you haven’t done so already. There are so many ways to rock this mix…pair a polka dot blouse or a lightweight sweater with distressed denim and a leopard print belt or shoes or pair polka dot bottoms with a simple top and leopart print accessories. There are endless possibilities of how you can rock this power combo. Here are some inspirational boards featuring Polka Dots & Leopart Spots!           You can even incorporate polka dots &leopard prints in your home.(Images via Pinterest)

Will you be mixing these prints this Spring?

2015 Colour Of The Year: Marsala!

Pantone, Inc. is the world-renowned authority on colour and this year, they have declared Marsala as “Colour of the Year”.

Marsala is an earthy red wine tone that is hearty, rich, stylish and universally appealing. This elegant statement colour is perfect on its own or as a strong accent to many other colours such as grey, ivory and olive.

It can easily be translated into your everyday life. In fashion, you can go monochromatic with a dress and accessories or a sweater and skirt. In home furnishings and interiors, you can focus on adding accent pieces such as chairs, rugs, throws, cushions or you can go bold by painting a feature wall in this welcoming hue. In beauty, you can have fun with lips, nails, eyeshadows and cheeks.

Need some ideas…Here are some inspirational looks featuring Marsala.

Spring Cleaning: Closet Swap!

Now that Spring is here, it’s time to start purging the thick, heavy sweaters in your closet for the lightweight tops and flowy dresses.

Every 6 months, I look forward to doing my closet swap. I get to fall in love all over again with items that I haven’t worn in a while and discover pieces that I forgot I even had.

There’s a great feeling in doing this. Personally, it makes me feel renewed, refreshed and blessed to have clothes on my back. It’s also a great opportunity to give back by donating clothing wherever you can. That is something that is very dear to my heart.

Closet organization is also something I enjoy doing so much that I’ve blogged about it three times already here, here and here. Well, I wanted to share more closet ideas that may inspire you. Organization is key!

And for the man of course…

It can easily be integrated into your life. In fashion, you can go bold with a dress or a trench coat or it can be as simple as adding a purse, shoes or jewelry. In home decor, you can focus on adding accent chairs, throws, cushions or lamps. In beauty, you can have fun with lips, nails, eyes and even hair accessories.

A perfect gentleman’s closet

As you may already know, I have a thing for closets. I love organizing them, color coordinating the items in them, creating a harmonious flow throughout the wardrobe and personalizing the overall look to make it easy to explore.

A man’s wardrobe should be a reflection of his style and his art of manliness. One that can keep his closet pristine and well organized is a major ➕PLUS➕in my books. Here are few closet ideas that may help in creating the perfect gentleman’s closet.

DIY: Shoe Closet!

I must confess…I LOVE shoes! 😍
Shoe-a-holic…Me!?….ummm maybe!? 👠
Recently I took on a project of building my shoe closet. It was really simple…I bought 2 Billy bookcases from IKEA for $49 (sale price; regular price:$69) and it took me less than 2 hours to put them both up. Everything I needed came with the package besides a hammer (tip: you can use the bottom of a shoe, preferably an old pair). 😝
I followed the instructions included in the box and Tah-Dah!!!

Here are more shoe closet ideas:

I particularly love the first one (It’s Mariah Carey’s shoe closet!).
