Gingham is a plain-woven fabric made from dyed yarn or cotton-blend yarn, usually striped or checked. Originated in Malay in the 1960s, gingham is now a pattern that is used everywhere in fashion (from dresses to shoes) to everywhere in home decor (from curtains to chairs). I’m especially loving this pattern on shirts. There’s something about a checkered buttoned down shirt that catches the eyes. See for yourself. Check out some of my fave streetsyle looks…
This look is so making me want to rock white denim in November.
I’m also loving the faux-fur vest look. I just pulled mined from my closet to wear sometime this week.
Love this blend of colours too. What’s great is that you are not limited in the colour options of gingham. Although I prefer the navy/white or black/white look, you can play on colours depending on the season. I love wearing my yellow/white gingham shirt in the summer.
Bonus: Men can definitely rock this look too!
